SCP Auction pulls in $1.75 Million Including 1927 Yankees Team Photo/Auto

I always love watching the SCP auctions because of my fondness for vintage cards. The latest auction pulled in a total of $1.75 million! The highlight of the auction was a 1927 New York Yankees Team Photo that was signed by 47 players! That has to be the whole team and a few extras, right? Anyway, it went for the seemingly bargain price of $94,000. There was actually a baseball card that hit even higher bidding, but did not meet its reserve. A 1934 Goudey Nap Lajoie which was graded by SGC as a 96 went over $100,000 but didn't meet the reserve. A 1955 Mantle jersey went for over $88,000 but did not meet its reserve either. Plenty of cards went in the range of $10,000 to $25,000 as well, including tons of one of my favorites, the T206's. You can see a list of all the recent SCP auctions here:

The Verdict is In...Groundhog Says...

Six more weeks of winter! That's actually a good thing if you live in the south. Have to enjoy these nice winter days before 5 straight months of 100 degree highs. Today was the annual celebration of Groundhog Day, and it reminds me of this classic 2007 Allen & Ginter card. I love the quirky cards that Topps throws in that set each year. Happy Groundhog Day!
